anemone in the tide pools

The tide pools at Fort Bragg as extremely varied because of differing elevations, time in the sun, and refreshing. This anemone was found in one of the lowest of pools, one where I had to keep looking up to avoid forgetting incoming water was just a moment or two away!

Are anemone “cute” or “pretty”? Or something else entirely? All I know is they seem so completely alien to me that I’m not eager to touch one whereas I’d reach right in and grab a hermit crab or starfish. Maybe it’s just me. Or maybe I’ve watched too much Japanimation…
