pinecone and mushroom
At the foot of Bear River Falls, I was setting up the gear after taking it all out of my backpack so take “slow shutter” water shots when I dropped something, probably a lens cap. When I bent over to retrieve it, I saw a speck of white that reminded me of another photoshoot a while back. Down on my knees in the wet loam I saw a pinecone no more than 1/2 long with the tiniest mushroom imaginable on it! I immediately went into macro mode and forgot all about the roaring falls behind me. It was a nightmare getting this shot because of the dim lighting and the lack of a flash in the macro mode on my Olympus. But once it was captured and I saw it at home, I was enthralled with the incredibly tiny beauty of God’s Works. If the lens cap had landed on this, it would have crushed it and covered it forever.
