Egret flying in the Yolo Preserve
A neighbour with a (Gasp!) Canon and a 100 – 400mm lens, took me out to the Preserve but it wasn’t a great day for bird watching. The stuff that was there didn’t want to be photographed and there wasn’t a lot flying about. There were some rare birds, one of which was the Yellow breasted black bird (another black bird with more colours than most bluebirds or green birds or anything besides a freakin’ PARROT birds). But my catch of the day was this single egret that wasn’t amused to have us around but couldn’t get away faster than I could aim and focus the Nikon D90. I got 7 good shots in less than 2 seconds so it was a thrill to see so much of the workings of their wings. :-)
