vantage point

The tree I was sitting under feeding the squirrels was one of the most interesting trees in Capitol Park, Sacramento. But it, like all trees, fell victim to time and broke to pieces during a violent storm. This was the first tree “I” lost in this park and it was almost heart rending to see it cut into rolls to be transported elsewhere.

Most of the shade is gone now but the area still has two remaining trees, this one being the one most severely damaged. Squirrels adapt well tho and all those left homeless seem to have found room in other tree holes. There aren’t that many holes tho. I can’t fathom where they all go when it gets wet and windy outside. Maybe relatives share dwellings, if there’s a way to tell who’s related to who. Interesting.

Nikon D90 again, 18-105mm Nikkor lens again, Capitol Park again, and squirrels… Yeah, again. So bite me.
